A VPN (virtual private network) extends a private network across a public network and enables users to send and receive data across public networks as if they were connected to the private network. Using the VPN is sometimes necessary to use if you are out of the office or are working remotely. Access to specific folders such as the shared drive or accessing Reports12 will require you to be on the Barracuda VPN.

This is a quick guide on how to connect to the VPN when it's necessary.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that the VPN is meant to be used periodically and we would not recommend staying connected throughout the day. Leaving it on will slow down your internet speeds, so it is important to remember to disconnect after you finish accessing your files.

Option One

1) On the desktop, open your system tray which is located in the bottom right (refer to picture below)

2) There will be an icon that looks like a key that if you hover over, it will say Barracuda Network Access Client. Right click this icon and hover over "Connect to" and choose the Pella Mid-Atlantic profile

3) Enter your computer's username and password and click Connect

4) You will get a notification saying that it is connected and the key icon will turn green. To disconnect, follow step two, but instead of connecting, select Disconnect

Option Two

1) Search your computer for the application Barracuda Network Access Client and open

2) You will see a VPN called "Pella Mid-Atlantic". Highlight and and click Connect

3) If prompted to enter username and password, enter your the computer credentials

3) You will get a notification saying that it is connected. To disconnect, return to the application and hit Disconnect
